Friday, March 12, 2010 Atlanta company to manage 3 foreclosed hotelsAtlanta-based Kasandas Properties LLC has gotten contracts to manage three foreclosed hotels, including one in Roswell.Kasandas Properties
is now managing the Brookwood Inn, a 132-room hotel off Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell, which is now owned by Macon-based State Bank & Trust Co.; Ramada Limited in Port Wentworth, which is near Savannah; and a former Country Inn & Suites in Savannah. The 60-room Ramada Limited and 55-room Country Inn & Suites hotels are
owned by United Central Bank in Garland, Texas. All three of the hotels became property of the banks March 2. Both
banks approached Kasandas Properties about managing the three hotels, said Roshan Patel, principal and managing partner of
Kasandas Properties, and he expects this will become another branch of his company. “We believe
there is going to be some more fallout in commercial property, particularly hotels,” he said. Patel
said his goal is to get the hotels “cleaned up, get the revenues up, and get these assets sold.” Kasandas
Properties also plans to develop an 83-room Fairfield Inn & Suites in Peachtree City, he said. “We hope to start construction on that in six months.” Patel expects to find other hotels in metro Atlanta to manage or purchase. “We think now is a buying
time in Atlanta.” Founded in 1977, Kasandas Properties has 12 hotels under management. ========================================================================================================================================
